In match number 25 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are taking on defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. However, both these teams are coming off a defeat from their previous matches respectively, but the hosts will be eager to get a win under their belt, especially seeing MS Dhoni return to helm.
As the two skippers walked out for toss, this time MS Dhoni for CSK after Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out of the season due to a fracture in his right elbow, it was the KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane who returned on top. After winning the toss, the KKR skipper decided to field first, thus putting the hosts to bat first.

“We'll bowl first. There were a lot of positives from the last game. We as a team played really well. It is about improving each game,” Rahane said after winning toss. He also spoke of a change in the side which will see Moeen Ali come in place of Spencer Johnson. On the other hand, MS Dhoni also called two changes when asked about his team combination.
After addressing his opinions on batting first, MS Dhoni said, “Couple of changes for us - Tripathi comes in for Ruturaj, and Anshul Kambhoj in for Mukesh.”
