Lucknow Super Giants are set to face Delhi Capitals again in match number 40 of IPL 2025 at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Ahead of the match, DC skipper Axar Patel won the toss and put LSG to bat first. Talking about the playing XIs for both teams, LSG didn’t make any change from their winning XI from the last game. Meanwhile, DC are coming with one change as fast bowler Mohit Sharma has been benched against LSG.
In place of Mohit Sharma, DC have picked Sri Lankan fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera who will be seen playing his first match of the season. DC skipper Axar Patel confirmed that a couple of players have been injured and Chameera is replacing Mohit in the playing XI. “Unfortunately a couple of our players are injured and they won't be able to field. One change for us. Mohit Sharma is out, Dushmantha Chameera is playing,” Patel said at the toss.

Talking about LSG, Rishabh Pant said that he was also looking to bowl if he had won the toss. “Definitely (would have bowled first). The way this wicket is playing, it stops a bit in the first innings and as the game goes on, it gets better and better,” Pant said at the toss.
“As a team, we don't think about what's happening around us. We are just focusing on where we can improve. We are playing with the same team,” LSG skipper added.
