India and England are taking on each other in the fifth and the final Test match of a five-match series at the Kennington Oval Cricket Ground in London. It will be a crucial game for India as they are already trailing 1-2 in the series. The Shubman Gill-led side will be looking to level the series 2-2, while the hosts England will look for a win or even a draw to clinch the series.
Ahead of the important clash, England’s stand-in captain Ollie Pope won the toss and opted to bowl first. India have made three changes in their playing XI as Dhruv Jurel and Prasidh Krishna have replaced Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah respectively in the lineup while Shardul Thakur has also been benched as Karun Nair makes his return to the playing XI.
Karun Nair gets another chance for 5th Test, Shardul Thakur
Karun Nair has made his return in the Indian playing XI after missing the fourth Test in Manchester. He got good starts this series but couldn’t convert them into a big score amassing 131 runs in three matches. Now, he will be looking to get a big score to help his team win the series. On the other hand, Shardul Thakur, who didn’t have great outing in the series ahs been benched to give place to Nair for the fifth Test.
