A total of 1525 players registered for the WPL 2023 auction, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) cut down the list to 409. The list includes 202 capped players, while 199 are uncapped. However, fresh reports have claimed that 39 names have been included in the list, but no official confirmation has been made by BCCI.
Franchises will enter the auction with a purse of INR 12 crores, and they will not leave a stone unturned to formulate a quality squad for the inaugural edition. The highest base price of any player is Rs. 50 Lakh, which features a total of 24 players including players like Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur, Sophie Ecclestone, and others.
