Mumbai Indians Women are on a winning spree as they have won all of their four matches so far in the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL). The Harmanpreet Kaur-led team looks unbeatable with the kind of form they are in. Now, they will have to face Gujarat Giants in their fifth match of the season on Tuesday.
Mumbai have got some really good players who are performing consistently. The two biggest performers for MI Women have been Hayley Matthews and Shaika Ishaque. While Matthews has been chipping in with crucial runs at the top of the order, Ishaque has been the leading wicket-taker for Mumbai. The left-arm orthodox has already taken 12 wickets in four matches.
Meanwhile, Gujarat Giants are struggling to hit the right chord as they have lost three out of four games so played so far. It seems the Giants have not yet recovered from the shock of losing their captain in the very first game. Also, their defeat in the opening fixture seems to have caused a massive dent to their players’ confidence.
The pitch at Brabourne Stadium is one of the best batting surfaces and it is expected to be the same for the MIW vs GG game. Batters will continue to enjoy the even bounce on the pitch while bowlers will have to be extra careful with their lengths.
