The newest edition of WWE SmackDown is set to go down at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio with the build-up to two-night SummerSlam Premium Live Event (PLE) expected to pick up pace with just over two weeks remaining to the show. In the marquee segment on the show, WWE Champion John Cena is advertised for an appearance, and he will sign the contract for the title match against challenger Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam after successfully defeating him to win his record-setting 17th world championship.
Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis of The Wyatt Sicks, who became the new WWE Tag Team Champions after defeating The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) on last week’s episode of SmackDown, are expected to make their presence felt on this week’s show. After successfully defending her WWE Women’s Championship against Hall of Famer Trish Stratus, Tiffany Stratton has her hands full with the new challenger Jade Cargill, and these two superstars could be going face-to-face this week.
It is a stacked card put together by WWE SmackDown, which is expected to throw a few surprises apart from scheduled matches, like every other weekly show does in the promotion in recent times.
