In the third match of the T20I tri-series played at the Harare Sports Club in Harare, New Zealand played an aggressive brand of cricket against the hosts Zimbabwe, and they bagged a convincing eight-wicket win. Winning the toss, the Kiwi captain Mitchell Santner invited Zimbabwe to bat first. Matt Henry exuded confidence with the ball and delivered the first blow to Zimbabwe in the form of Brian Bennett, who fell after scoring 21 off 20. Rachin Ravindra also stepped up and got the better of Clive Mandane, who scored only eight off 13. Wesley Madhevere, who was looking to settle at the crease, fell against Adam Milne. The opener could amass 36 off 32.

In the crunch situation, captain Sikandar Raza also failed to be impactful and could score only 12 off 18. Zimbabwe kept on losing wickets in regular intervals and could score only 120/7 in their 20 overs. Henry emerged as the highest wicket-taker in the match, registering 3/26 figures in his four-over spell. Milne, Santner, Ravindra, and Michael Bracewell got one wicket apiece.

New Zealand chase down low total comfortably with Devon Conway's unbeaten fifty

Following the mere 121, the Black Caps lost their wicket-keeper batter Tim Seifert, but Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra decimated the home team’s bowling attack and pillaged runs. Both top-order batters built a 59-run partnership off 44 balls. Ravindra departed after hitting 30 off 19, but Conway continued his onslaught.

New Zealand completed the chase in 13.5 overs with eight wickets in hand and Conway got the player of the match (POTM) award for his unbeaten 59 which came in just 40 balls. Conway’s innings was studded with six boundaries (four fours and two maximums). Daryl Mitchell also chipped in with his unbeaten 26 off 19. This was New Zealand’s second triumph in the tournament. Earlier on July 16, the Kiwi team beat South Africa by 21 runs.
