The medal table at the Commonwealth Games 2026 continues to shift as the competition heats up in Glasgow. With athletics, boxing, judo, bowls, para athletics and track cycling all in action, several medals have already been decided and more are on the line on Saturday.
India had its best day of the Games on Friday. Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra took silver in the men’s javelin throw, while Yashvir Singh claimed a personal-best bronze to give India a double podium finish. The day also brought history in judo, as Asmita Dey and Harsh Singh delivered the country’s first-ever Commonwealth Games gold medals in the sport.

Athletes from 74 nations and territories are in the thick of competition at the 23rd Commonwealth Games, and the medal race is heating up ahead of Day 10. Australia has surged to the top of the leader-board with a total of 128 medals, which includes 55 gold, 30 silver, and 43 bronze. England is in second place, boasting 17 gold, 34 silver and 29 bronze medals, owing to an impressive performance on Day 9.
Host nation Scotland slipped to fourth with 10 gold and 34 medals, while Canada went up to third place, having collected 53 medals with 17 of those being gold. India has also made its mark, with five golds, which puts the country in tenth place overall.

Australia Extend Lead After Strong Day 9 in Glasgow
Australia continued their strong run at the Commonwealth Games on Friday, further extending their lead at the top of the medal table with another solid all-round performance. Australia continued their dominance in the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games in spectacular fashion, bagging 55 gold medals after the first nine days of the competition, across various events. This impressive performance catapulted the team to the top of the medal table with a total of 23 medals, showcasing their early dominance in the Games.
Teenage race walker Isaac Beacroft claimed gold in the men’s 10,000m race walk, while Sarah Billings picked up bronze in the women’s 800m. The Australian track cycling team also added to the tally, with Georgia Baker, Oliver Bleddyn and Blake Agnoletto among those who stood on the top step of the podium. With medals coming across athletics, cycling and other disciplines, Australia remains firmly in control of the standings as the Games move into the final stretch in Glasgow.
