India finished the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow with 39 medals. They ended up with a fourth-place finish. 1. Gulveer Singh (Athletics)

Gulveer was India’s only athlete to win multiple medals at the 2026 Commonwealth Games. He won a Silver medal in the 10,000 m (the first Indian medal ever in that event) followed by bronze in the 5,000 m. Running two tough distance races and coming away with medals in both is rare which makes his achievement huge. He also became the first Indian track and field athlete to win two individual medals at a single Commonwealth Games.

2. Mirabai Chanu (Weightlifting)

Mirabai Chanu won her third consecutive Gold medal at the Commonwealth Games and scripted history. The 31 year old broke three records across the 48kg category and this is the ninth gold medal of her career. She secured the gold in her second attempt at the Clean & Jerk and a total of 190kg meant she swept the records for the strength athlete. Mirabai continues to set high standards and her performance at the Commonwealth Games 2026 will go down in history as one of the best.

3. Preeti Pawar (Boxing)

Preeti’s performance at the CWG 2026 was one of the dominant performances in a boxing campaign. She looked sharp from the start and never really looked in trouble.Preeti Pawar opened the floodgates for India by winning the first gold in Boxing at Glasgow. Facing a tough opponent in Scarlett Delgado, Preeti absorbed the pressure with calm defence and struck effectively when opportunities came her way, earning a 5-0 win over the Canadian in the women’s 54kg title clash.

4. Neeraj Chopra (Athletics)

Olympic medalist Neeraj Chopra was returning from an injury, and he had his best throw of the year to secure a silver in the javelin. He came close but didn’t quite get the gold. Despite not winning the gold, his consistency across multiple events makes him one of the best athletes to ever represent India. Neeraj Chopra continues to hold the flag high for India and CWG 2026 was no different.

5. Sharmila Dhankar (Para Athletics)

 

Gold in the women’s F57 shot put made Sharmila Dankar, India’s first Commonwealth Games para-athletics champion.
