Seven time Wimbledon Champion Novak Djokovic looked sharp as he beat Roman Safiullin in the Round of 16 match in four sets as he made his way to quarter finals. It was a clinical performance from the Serbian legend as he broke plenty of records. Novak Djokovic won the first two sets but Roman Safiullin bounced back to take the third set before Djokovic clinched the win by winning the fourth set.

The match started with Roman Safiullin both players getting a break early but Safiullin managed to consolidate and was leading the first set 5-2. Novak Djokovic was tested but made a great comeback to hold his serve and broke back to level things.

The first set went to a tie breaker with Novak Djokovic prevailing to win the tie-breaker 8-6 and clinched the first set. It was a very tight set where Djokovic had to save multiple set points. The second set was completely dominated by Novak Djokovic who won it 6-3 to go two sets up. Roman Safiullin fought back and broke Djokovic to win the third set and stay alive in the match.

Novak Djokovic broke early in the fourth set and managed to win the set 6-3 to win the match. It was a clinical display from the 24 time Grand slam champion who hit 44 winners in this match. After this win, Novak Djokovic has gone past Roger Federer's 105 Wimbledon wins. He has also made his way to 17th Wimbledon Quarter Final and 66th Grand Slam Quarter final overall. It has been a special day for Novak Djokovic and he has broken plenty of records on his way and is looking good for more.

Novak Djokovic jokes about his meltdown: “I had a few of those today”

After winning the match, Novak Djokovic apologised about his meltdown during the on court interview. Novak Djokovic was asked, “You’re known for your focus and concentration on court..” to which he interrupted and said “And the outbursts as well.” Surprised by this, the interviewer said “The what?” to which Novak replied with,“The outbursts. You know, the meltdowns. I had a few of those today as well. I apologize.”

Novak Djokovic got booed by the Centre Court crowd after smashing a ball in frustration. He let rip as the third set slipped away from Djokovic, and lashed out when Roman Safiullin launched a ball towards his body and Djokovic ended up losing the point. After losing the third set, Novak Djokovic reacted by picking up a tennis ball and smashing it long after the point ended, causing the crowd to erupt with boos, having turned on their seven-time champion.
