The final of the women’s 10m air pistol event was a tightly contested affair, with shooters from across the globe vying for the coveted medals. While appearing composed in an under-pressure situation, Esha Singh established a strong lead and fired a series of precise shots that kept her ahead of the pack. She registered a score of 242.6 in the final, while fellow Indian shooter Rhythm Sangwan participated in the same event, rounding off a strong showing for the Indian contingent.

In a remarkable display of precision and composure, Indian shooter Esha Singh claimed the gold medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the ISSF World Cup, held in Ningbo, China, on Saturday, September 13. The young shooter from Hyderabad entered the final as one of the top qualifiers, having displayed consistency and focus in the preliminary rounds. Reflecting on her victory, Esha expressed her joy and gratitude, reportedly stating, “Winning the gold at the ISSF World Cup is a dream come true. It’s a result of years of hard work, dedication, and the support of my coaches, family, and teammates. Competing against the best in the world is always challenging, but I’m thrilled to have performed at my best today.”

Rhythm Sangwan finishes fifth with 179.2 points in the women’s 10m air pistol

Esha Singh’s compatriot Rhythm Sangwan also put up a commendable performance, finishing fifth with a score of 179.2 points. While she narrowly missed out on a podium finish, Rhythm’s effort was a testament to the depth of talent in Indian shooting. Among the participants of the Indian contingent, Bhavesh Shekhawat gave a strong performance, however he couldn’t get a podium finish. He finished fourth in the 25m rapid fire pistol qualification on Friday, September 12, 2025. However, in the women’s 50m rifle positions, the Indian challenge fell short with none of the shooters making it to the final round.

In the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions final, world number one Jeanette Hegg Duestad of Norway clinched her second gold of the competition with a score of 466.2, having earlier won in the 10m air rifle mixed team. Duestad, who has also claimed World Cup gold this year in Munich and silver in Lima, was followed by Denmark’s Rikki Maeng Ibsen with silver on 463.3 and Czechia’s Barbora Dubska, who secured bronze with 451.4. For India, Mehuli Ghosh finished 23rd with a total of 583, while Manini Kaushik shot 580 for 45th place. Surabhi Bhardwaj Rapole ended at 52nd place with 578.
