Chennai Super Kings have a habit of getting those players back in auction, who have been a part of franchise in past. The Yellow Army don't believe in letting go of their key players and a similar trend was seen during Day 1 of IPL 2022 mega auction in Bengaluru on Saturday. After securing the signings of Robin Uthappa, Anbati Rayudu and Dwayne Bravo (from last year's squad), CSK were desperate to get another one of their star cricketers back in the set-up in form of Deepak Chahar.

However, Thala's Army had to face a lot of competition from Rajasthan Royals, who looked quite interested in getting the player on board. RR bid very aggressively for Chahar and they also got a bit of stare from CSK management every now and then. However, CSK were determined to stay in the race and as it turned out, RR eventually pulled out of the intense bidding war. As a result, Deepak Chahar returned to Chennai Super Kings for Rs 14 crore, much to the delight of all Yellow Army fans.

The last few moments of the battle was indeed a sight to watch, with the faces at CSK's table reflecting the importance of the signing of Deepak Chahar, who is notably one of the key weapons of captain MS Dhoni at the franchise.
