After the prestigious Ballon d’Or was called off last year due to the hiatus caused by Covid-19, football fans all around the world are excited to see which player will fetch the particular award this year. Unlike other years, there is no clear favorite for 2021. With just over a month left for the winner to be declared in Paris, football fans all around the globe are shocked as the final rankings as the potential winner of the Ballon d’Or 2021 has been reportedly leaked.

To those who are unaware, the voting for the Ballon d’Or closed few days ago as the winner is scheduled to be announced officially on November 29. Since the list of 30 shortlisted players was announced by France football, there were certain front runners like Robert Lewandowski, Lionel Messi, Jorginho, Karim Benzema among others to win the highest individual honour.

Robert Lewandowski tipped to win Ballon d’or 2021

According to Marca, a leaked image has tipped Bayern Munich and Poland striker Robert Lewandowski to win the prestigious accolade. If the leaked image is perhaps the final rankings, then Lionel Messi is not going to win his seventh Ballon d’Or to end the G.O.A.T debate even after winning his first international trophy. Moreover, the leaked image also suggests that Portuguese talisman, Cristiano Ronaldo is not even in the top 3, a scenario which will take place for the first time since 2010.

Moreover, the list all also indicates that Premier League stars Kevin De Bruyne, N’Golo Kante, Mohamed Salah and Jorginho are within the top 10. Having said that with 627 points against his name, Lewandowski tops Argentinian striker Lionel Messi, while Karim Benzema completes the top 3.

Assuming that the list (hypothetical) is true, the competition seems to be immensely tight as there were three players who got more than 500 points. However, it has to be reiterated that these are not the final Ballon d’Or rankings. Yet the leaked image has caused a stir all around the football world, becoming the most discussed topic.
