Shubman Gill led from the front with a fabulous century as Gujarat Titans beat Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets to book a place in the final of IPL 2026. Rajasthan Royals were batting first and lost early wickets but a sensational 96 from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi helped them post 214/5 at the end of the first innings. Chasing the target, Gujarat Titans openers put up a massive century run partnership to cruise the chase. Shubman Gill completed his century and ensured that his side was ahead in the game. Gujarat Titans will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Final of IPL 2026.
Sai Sudharshan: (On getting out hit-wicket twice in two matches)Seriously the bat just bounced and hit the wicket, but this time around I wanted to hit the stumps directly (Laughs). I think the plan was very clear to go after the bowling from the first ball. Honestly we didn't think of the target, we were clear ball by ball to bat according to the situation. I and Gill understand the situation very well and he did play very well today. My batting has definitely evolved over the years, this year I had many points to correct and I have done that. The whole dug-out is very happy with the final. We think the finals as just another game to take off the pressure. Definitely I will take another t pairs of gloves that stick.

It was a par score; it was defendable. I felt after the heavy roller, it got better in the 2nd innings. In the first innings, the bowlers got some grip, and the slower ones did well. I thought 230 would have been a par score. A score around 240 would have been challenging, but we needed the openers early. It didn't happen, which became tough for us. (On the season) To sum it up in one sentence, there were many positives. We weren't supposed to qualify, given that many players were young and inexperienced, but many youngsters performed well and can only improve from here. (On Vaibhav Sooryavamshi) I can't put it into words, there's one way where you slog and score many runs. But he doesn't slog, you could see his innings today - he calculates and plays his shots. I can't say how, but hopefully he will go on to do well in his career, do well for the Rajasthan Royals and win us a second title.

There was some confusion there but happy to get the win. We complement each other well, we understand each other very well and when we communicate we know what bowler to take down. I don't think I have seen anything, no one has seen anything like that in two matches in a row. It was all about I was in kind of in a zone, I was looking at the bolwers and see the ball, pick my spots to score the runs. That's what happens when you are batting well. We got a total, and once we got off to a start, I wanted to finish the game. We are very fortunate to have very good bowlers, Sai Kishore didn't even have a bowl today.
