Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continued his dominant form in the Indian Premier League 2026 as he went past the 700 run mark this season. He has really taken it to the next level this season and has broken plenty of records. In the Qualifier 2 against Gujarat Titans he displayed another side of him as he was composed and despite a couple of wickets falling from the other he batted through and made a terrific 96 before getting dismissed. He had the chance to score a century in Qualifier 1 but missed it by three runs and in this game he once again missed out on the milestone. A video has gone viral on social media where Riyan Parag was spotted in the dressing room scolding Vaibhav Sooryavanshi after his dismissal. Watch the video here.

The audio of the clip is not available but the social media is split on the issue with many pointing out the attitude of RR captain Parag while others noting the other side of it. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi smashed 96 runs from 47 balls and was dismissed by Kagiso Rabada just short of the milestone. There was a huge disappointment among fans and the crowd as he missed out on a well deserved century. In the previous game the youngster slammed 97 and was on track to break the record for fastest century in IPL before he was dismissed.
Record breaking season for Sooryavanshi
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi broke plenty of records this season as he went past the 700 run mark. He broke the record of most sixes in a single season which was held by Chris Gayle. Sooryavanshi also became the first batter to score 500 or more runs just in the powerplay. He smashed a century earlier in the season against SRH but also missed out on three opportunities where he crossed the 90 run mark but fell short of the milestone.
Rajasthan Royals knocked out, Gujarat Titans make it to the final
Rajasthan Royals despite the heroics from Sooryavanshi could not get past Gujarat Titans as they suffered the defeat in Qualifier 2. Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill led from the front smashing a century and helped his side get over the line. Gujarat Titans will now face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
