Former West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle came up with his all-time playing XI for the Indian Premier League (IPL). Gayle has been a legend of T20 cricket and was a star player during his time in the IPL. He started his IPL career with Kolkata Knight Riders in the second edition of the tournament in 2009. After two years with KKR, Gayle joined Royal Challengers Bengaluru and was a part of the franchise till 2017 before he joined Punjab Kings ahead of IPL 2018.
Chris Gayle played his last IPL season with Punjab in 2021. He has scored 4965 runs from 142 matches in IPL at an average of 39.72 and a strike rate of 148.96. Recently, Chris Gayle gave an interview to anchor Shubhankar Mishra on YouTube where he picked his all-time IPL XI. However, what came as a big shock for fans was that Gayle didn’t pick six-time IPL champion Rohit Sharma in his playing XI.

While picking his all-time playing XI for IPL, Chris Gayle picked himself, AB de Villiers, Dwayne Bravo and Sunil Narine as the four overseas players. Apart from that, the left-hander picked his former RCB captain Virat Kohli, star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah, legendary captain MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, KL Rahul and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
However, players like Rohit Sharma, Lasith Malinga, Kieron Pollard didn’t find a place in the playing XI.
