Rajasthan Royals’ all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was seen engaging in an animated yet friendly banter with Delhi Capitals’ bowler Kuldeep Yadav. The Royals hosted the Capitals in the 43rd league-stage game of the IPL 2026 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Friday, May 1. Winning the toss, the Riyan Parag-led side posted a mammoth total of 225 with the loss of six wickets.

During the first innings, Jadeja, the Royals’ popular acquisition for the current season, and DC’s sensational and veteran bowler Yadav engaged in a funny interaction. Jadeja, who was promoted and came in before Donovan Ferreira, tried to scare Yadav with an animated gesture while walking in on the field. Yadav, in return, ended up pushing the RR star, and the two seemingly engaged in a furious conversation. However, it was a friendly gesture since both the players have been teammates in the Indian cricket team.

Why was Ravindra Jadeja promoted ahead of Donovan Ferreira in RR vs DC IPL 2026?

As stated, the veteran player was promoted over South African finisher Donovan Ferreira during the game. The shift in the batting lineup occurred as the Royals wanted to stabilize their innings against the Axar Patel-led side after losing their openers on single-digit scores. The decision was followed by Riyan Parag’s impressive 90. According to reports by khelnow.com, the management opted for experience over raw power.

Not only this, but Rajasthan Royals batting coach Vikram Rathour revealed that the move was designed to counter Delhi’s spin attack. He explained that Jadeja is currently considered a better player against spin as compared to the Proteas batter. Moreover, since Yadav had overs remaining to bowl, the veteran player was sent in.

Notably, Jadeja added 20 runs off 14 balls with one boundary and one six for RR.
