Dewald Brevis became the most expensive player in the history of the South Africa T20 League after Pretoria Capitals bought him for a whopping R16.5m i,e. INR 8.31 crore approx, in the SA20 Auction 2025. Coming at a base price of R500,000 (around INR 25 lakhs), Brevis got bids from Joburg Super Kings who were having an intense bidding war with Paarl Royals. At R10 million mark, the Royals left the bid after which Pretoria Capitals joined the war with JSK.
At last, JSK also couldn’t go more than R16.5M as Pretoria Capitals made history by picking the 22-year-old at the highest price in the SA20 auction 2025. As per the Indian currency, Brevis has been picked by the Capitals for around INR 8.31 crore. Looking at this, Brevis also has a higher salary than some of the star Indian players in the IPL.

Tilak Varma
Star young batter Tilak Varma turned out to be a crucial players for the five-time champions Mumbai Indians in the last few years in the IPL. With his consistent performances in IPL 2022 and 2023 respectively, Tilak also got a chance to make his debut for India and is being looked at as the next superstar for the franchise. From being picked for INR 1.7 crore in his first IPL season in 2022, Tilak was retained by MI for INR 8 Crore ahead of IPL 2025. The left-hander has scored 1499 runs from 54 matches in his IPL career at an average of 37.47 and a strike rate of 144.41.
Harshal Patel
Indian fast bowler Harshal Patel was seen playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025. The right-arm pacer has played for four different franchises in his IPL career so far since 2012 taking 151 wickets from 119 matches till now. His first IPL salary was INR 8 Lakh when Royal Challengers Bengaluru acquired his services ahead of IPL 2012. Now, he was picked by SRH for INR 8 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction last year.
Mukesh Kumar
Veteran India pacer Mukesh Kumar was a part of Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025. He made his IPL debut for DC when the franchise picked him for INR 5.50 crore ahead of IPL 2023. He was released by DC ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction. However, the franchise used the right-to-match card on him in the auction at INR 8 crore and bought him back in the squad for IPL 2025. He has taken 36 wickets from 32 matches in his IPL career.
Nitish Kumar Reddy
Star young all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy turned out to be among the emerging players in the last couple of IPL seasons. He was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 20 Lakhs ahead of IPL 2024. After his heroics in IPL 2024, Reddy was retained by SRH for INR 6 crore ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction. He has scored 485 runs and took five wickets from 28 matches in his IPL career so far.
Krunal Pandya
All-rounder Krunal Pandya was awarded Player of the match in the final of IPL helping Royal Challengers Bengaluru to win their maiden title. He made his IPL debut in 2016 and has played for three different franchises so far taking 93 wickets with ball and scoring 1756 runs from 142 matches. He was picked by RCB for INR 5.75 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction last year.
