Dewald Brevis became the most expensive player in the history of the South Africa T20 League after Pretoria Capitals bought him for a whopping R16.5m i,e. INR 8.31 crore approx, in the SA20 Auction 2025. Coming at a base price of R500,000 (around INR 25 lakhs), Brevis got bids from Joburg Super Kings who were having an intense bidding war with Paarl Royals. At R10 million mark, the Royals left the bid after which Pretoria Capitals joined the war with JSK.

At last, JSK also couldn’t go more than R16.5M as Pretoria Capitals made history by picking the 22-year-old at the highest price in the SA20 auction 2025. As per the Indian currency, Brevis has been picked by the Capitals for around INR 8.31 crore. Looking at this, Brevis also has a higher salary than some of the star Indian players in the IPL.

His first IPL salary was INR 8 Lakh when Royal Challengers Bengaluru acquired his services ahead of IPL 2012. Now, he was picked by SRH for INR 8 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction last year.
