Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter Virat Kohli signed an autograph for Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjiv Goenka’s grandson. Notably, the Rishabh Pant-led side hosted the defending champions in the 50th league-stage clash of the IPL 2026 at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Thursday, May 8. The rain-affected game that was reduced to 19 overs on each side, saw the hosts emerging victorious by a margin of nine wickets, putting an end to their six-game losing skid.
A video from after the conclusion of the game has been doing rounds on social media, where the former RCB skipper, Virat Kohli, was seen signing an autograph for LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka’s grandson. The video quickly went viral on social media, showcasing how Kohli is admired by even the rival teams. However, talking about the talismanic batter’s performance, he failed to perform against a weaker LSG team. Kohli was forced to walk back to the pavilion on a two-ball duck after Prince Yadav’s brilliant stumping.

Sanjay Manjrekar draws comparison between Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar
Former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar drew a comparison between Virat Kohli and legendary Sachin Tendulkar. Speaking about the way Kohli got stumped off a Prince Yadav delivery, Manjrekar recalled how Tendulkar used to have a similar reaction after being dismissed towards the end of his career. He emphasized on how the reaction of great batters separates them from the rest.
"Virat Kohli getting clean bowled by Prince Yadav gives me a great insight into a champion batter's mind. It was the same with Tendulkar as well. It's not so much about how he got out. Look at Virat's reaction when he gets out. The moment he gets out, he looks down at the pitch as if something untoward has happened. The pitch has played some trick on him," the commentator said.
"Tendulkar as well, towards the end of his career more so, he would look down at the pitch and would think that the ball is kept low and something wrong happened there. So what is happening here at the moment? There is a little setback like this. They aren't immediately looking within or being self-critical,” he added.
Notably, Kohli, who was once leading the IPL 2026 Orange Cap race, has slid to the ninth spot with 379 runs in 10 games. He has the high score of 81, and he is batting at an average of 47.38 and a strike rate of 164.06.
