PUBG Mobile LIGHT has officially been announced, giving players a new way to enjoy the popular battle royale game. The announcement was made during the final day of the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2026. PUBG Mobile Producer Rick Li shared the first details about the new app, including its download size, account support, gameplay and pre-registration.

The main idea behind PUBG Mobile LITE is to offer the core PUBG Mobile experience while using less storage. It is mainly useful for players who want a smaller and more flexible version of the game.

PUBG Mobile LIGHT Release Date and Pre-Registration

The exact PUBG Mobile LIGHT release date has not been announced yet. The developers are currently planning to launch the game later in 2026.

However, PUBG Mobile LIGHT pre-registration will start on August 25, 2026. More details about the final release date are expected after registrations begin.

PUBG Mobile LIGHT Download Size

One of the biggest advantages of the new app is its smaller download size.

The initial PUBG Mobile LIGHT download will be around 1GB for Android, while the iOS version will require less than 2GB.

Players will also not have to download another mandatory resource package before playing their first match. Once the main app is downloaded, they can directly enter the game.

Extra modules can be downloaded later depending on what content a player wants.

PUBG Mobile LITE Features

Even with its smaller size, PUBG Mobile LITE will keep the important parts of the original game.

The Classic Erangel map, weapons, supplies and core combat are designed to offer an experience similar to the regular PUBG Mobile version.

Existing PUBG Mobile players can also use their current accounts to log into LIGHT. Their owned items can carry over, allowing them to continue using their favourite outfits and other content.

Another major feature is that PUBG Mobile LIGHT players can team up with friends playing regular PUBG Mobile. This means players will not have to leave their existing squad just because they are using the lighter app.

The developers also plan to update PUBG Mobile LIGHT alongside the main PUBG Mobile game so both groups of players can enjoy new content.

What About BGMI Lite in India?

Indian players have also received good news. Following the PUBG Mobile LIGHT reveal, KRAFTON India officially confirmed BGMI Lite with the message, “You Asked. We Listened. BGMI LITE Coming Soon.”

KRAFTON later confirmed that BGMI Lite is scheduled to launch in India by the end of 2026.

However, the exact BGMI Lite launch date, pre-registration schedule, download size and gameplay details have not been announced yet. More information will be shared closer to launch.

For now, PUBG Mobile LIGHT and BGMI Lite are both officially on the way, making 2026 an important year for players looking for a lighter battle royale experience.
