On September 9, Nottingham Forest announced that they have roped in Ange Postecoglou as their head coach. Postecoglou will supersede Nuno Espirito Santo, who was fired by Forest on September 8. Earlier, Postecoglou was also sacked by Tottenham Hotspur in June. The former Australian defender coached Spurs for a couple of seasons, and in May, he was also a part of the team that won UEFA Europa League in May. It was Tottenham’s maiden title in 17 years. Nottingham are currently in a frail position with only one win in the Premier League 2025-26 season.
Forest’s next contest is against Arsenal on September 13, and Postecoglou will be seen as in charge of The Tricky Trees. On Ange Postecoglou’s appointment , Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has shown faith in the 60-year-old managerial experience . “We are bringing a coach to the club who has a proven and consistent record of winning trophies. His experience of coaching teams at the highest level, along with his desire to build something special with us at Forest, makes him a fantastic person to help us on our journey and achieve consistently all our ambitions," said Evangelos.
Ange Postecoglou’s massive coaching career
Ange Postecoglou has massive experience in coaching. In 1994 he made his managerial debut with Western Suburbs SC in the Victorian State League Division One. In 2013, he became Australia’s coach on a five-year contract. In November 2017, he resigned from the post after helping the side to qualify for the FIFA 2018 World Cup.
Discussing his experience in club football, he has coached Celtic and Hotspur. Now, he has been signed up by Nottingham for a couple of years and he will look to help the team record a title success as their last major trophy win came in in 1997-98, when they bagged the Football League Second Division.
