Liverpool have reportedly agreed a deal worth £125 million to sign Swedish striker Alexander Isak from Newcastle United after a lengthy transfer saga between the latter two over the past couple of months during the ongoing summer transfer window. It is understood that Alexander Isak will join Liverpool on a British transfer record deal, with some sources stating that it could be worth as high as £130 million including add-ons on the transfer deadline day.

As per the official post on X from the Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, Newcastle United will receive solitary payment from Liverpool as part of the £130 million transfer deal for Alexander Isak, who had made his intention clear to them about wanting to join the Merseyside club this summer. The documents regarding the transfer deal have already started to be shared by Newcastle United and Liverpool, beginning last night, to make the move happen.

Alexander Isak's deal will push Liverpool spending over £400 million without add-ons this summer

Notably, Liverpool had made an earlier offer worth £110 million for Alexander Isak in the transfer window to Newcastle United, only for the latter to reject it. But now, with the Tyneside club accepting the improved offer, Alexander Isak is set to beat the previous British transfer fee record set by Liverpool earlier in the summer to bring in German midfielder Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen for £116 million, including £16 million in add-ons.

Moreover, Alexander Isak is set to undergo medical on Monday, September 1, the transfer deadline day, and following that, he will sign a six-year contract with Liverpool. Apart from Florian Wirtz, the Merseyside club has already signed the likes of Hugo Ekitke, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Giovanni Leoni, Giorgi Mamardashvili, and Armin Pecsi, to bolster their squad, and the Alexander Isak deal will push their spending over £400 million without add-ons in the ongoing summer transfer window.
