After hanging his gloves and ending his cricketing career on a triumphing note, former Chennai Super Kings batter Ambati Rayudu has pulled up his socks for the next innings of his career. While Rayudu will be seen in action in USA’s Major League Cricket, the former India cricketer is likely to join politics and plan on contesting Lok Sabha elections. Recently, Rayudu met the Andhra Pradesh CM and Chief of YSRCP, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy twice.

According to The Times of India, Jagan wants the former cricketer to contest elections, but it is yet to be decided whether he will be fielded in assembly or elections of Lower House of Parliament’s elections. If reports are to be believed, senior politicians in the party think Rayudu should either contest elections from Ponnur or Guntur West segments for assembly polls. They think that Rayudu should choose Machilipatnam for Lok Sabha elections.

The 37-year-old was all praise for the Andhra Pradesh CM and had said, “CM Jagan Mohan Reddy is a big inspiration for youngsters entering politics. He is spearheading development in all the regions instead of concentrating on one area."

Rayudu announced his retirement from all forms of cricket after Chennai Super Kings lifted their fifth IPL trophy this year. However, Rayudu will continue to play the game elsewhere, and he is set to take part in the MCL, where he will represent Chennai Super Kings’ owned Texas Super Kings.
