Indian trap shooting star Kynan Chenai finished third in the men's individual 50m trap final, and with it claimed bronze medal in the Asian Games 2023, Hangzhou, the Republic of China. The Indian Olympian recorded the score of 32/40 to bag India's 22nd medal in shooting in the continental showpiece. Earlier in the day, Chenai, along with Prithviraj Tondaiman and Zoravar Singh Sandhu won gold in the men's trap event.

Chenai's compatriot Zoravar Singh Sandhu finished fifth in the competition with a scoreline of 23/30. The gold medal in the individual 50m event was won by  China's Ql Ying, while Kuwait's  Alrashidi Talal took home the silver. 

Speaking of the team's trap event, the Indian  triumvirate combined to shoot 361 in the final to find a top podium finish, ahead of  Kuwaiti Khaled Almudhaf, Talal Alrashidi and Abdulrahman Alfaihan (359), who settled for a silver and the hosts,  Yuhao Guo, Ying Qi and Yuhao Wang (354), who finished third. 

Apart from them, the Indian women's team scored a total of 337 points to win another silver medal in the women's trap event. The Indian trio  of Manisha Keer, Preeti Rajak and Rajeshwari Kumari finished behind the Chinese team to win the medal.
