Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen have stitched an agreement which will permit centre-back Jonathan Tah to play for Bayern in the upcoming 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, set to be held in the United States from June 14 to July 13. Bayern Munich will record their presence in the premier club tournament for the third time as they previously showed up in the 2013 and 2020 editions. Currently, Munich are the best-ranked side in UEFA’s four-year ranking. Munich will look to replicate their 2013 success, which they achieved after beating Botola’s Raja Club Athletic in the final.

Ahead of the humongous tournament, Bavarians are all set to sign up Tah for a modest amount and he will now join the Bundesliga champion side’s camp early. Tah will be transferred from Bayer Leverkusen, who he served for 10 years from 2015 to 2025. Reports have also emerged that Leverkusen will pay a base-transfer price of €800,000 to release Tah early for Munich’s campaign. If Munich advances to the further stage of the tournament, the fee will also rise above €1m.

Adam Aznou and Maurice Krattenmacher recalled in Bayern’s squad

Bayern Munich have also recalled youngsters Adam Aznou and Maurice Krattenmacher for the massive event. Besides Tah, they are also looking to rope in another player at the end of June for free or could be bought early. As per reports from Kicker and Sky Germany, Bayern are also striving to acquire TSG Hoffenheim's Tom Bischof as well. Earlier in January 2025, Bischof agreed to be part of Bayern Munich following the 2024-25 season, after signing a four-year deal with the club.

The special transfer window for the upcoming tournament will be active for clubs until June 10. With three days left for the closure of the window, several transfers are set to occur among clubs.
