Iceland Cricket took a brutal dig at Australian cricket team after their poor batting against India at the ODI World Cup 2023 opener. Pat Cummins led Kangaroos took on India in their first match of the season at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8, Sunday. The five-time champions were looking forward to dominating the home favourites but it seemed that the hosts were well prepared for Aussie line-up.

Winning toss, the Baggy Greens opted to bat first, but what followed was contrary to their expectations. Australia lost their wickets quickly with Mitchell Marsh returning to pavilion on duck. However, David Warner and Steven Smith handled things properly; however, the stability was short lived as their Warner was sent back off a Kuldeep Yadav delivery.

The few next wickets fell for the five-time champions, and the collective efforts of Indian pacers and spinners helped them bundle out their counterparts at 199. Iceland Cricket, on social media, took a jibe at the quickly-collapsing batting lineup of the Kangaroos. The official Twitter handle of Iceland Cricket tweeted, " Any app for Australian viewers to watch the World Cup?  Yes, collAPPse."

Coming back to the match, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma opened the innings for his side along with Ishan Kishan. The former champions, who were looking forward to chasing the score quickly saw their batting order collapsing quickly. Kishan, Sharma and Shreyas Iyer returned to pavilion without being able to open their accounts within the first two overs.
