Gujarat Titans went on to continue their domination in the ongoing IPL 2025 as they confirmed their place in the playoffs after a 10-wicket win over Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. GT’s win also benefited other teams like Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings, a total three teams are officially qualified in the top four. Batting first, DC post a total of 199/3 with the help of KL Rahul's fifth IPL hundred. In reply, skipper Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan didn’t lose their wicket throughout the innings as GT chased the target with six balls to spare.
Coming to bat first after losing the toss, DC lost their first wicket at the score of 16 runs in 3.2 overs, as Faf du Plessis got out after scoring just five runs. After that, KL Rahul and Abishek Porel put up a partnership of 90 runs for the second wicket. Porel got out after scoring 30 runs off 19 balls, hitting one four and three sixes. After that, skipper Axar Patel joined Rahul at the crease as the duo added another 45 runs before Patel lost his wicket after scoring 25(16) runs with one four and two sixes.
Sai Sudharsan's match-winning hundred overpowers KL Rahul's ton
After that, KL Rahul took the innings further and went on to complete his fifth IPL hundred in just 60 balls. The opening batter scored 112*(65), hitting 14 fours and four sixes. For GT, Arshad Khan, Sai Kishore and Prasidh Krishna scalped a wicket each. However, Rahul’s innings couldn’t come in a winning cause for DC.
Chasing the winning target, Sai Sudharsan and skipper Shubman Gill took charge of the DC bowlers with Sudharsan smashed his second IPL hundred. Sudharsan remained unbeaten on 108*(61) runs while Gill scored 93*(53) runs as GT chased the winning target in 19 overs without losing any wicket.
