In the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025, Team India put up an incredible fightback in the second innings of the fourth Test, played in Manchester. After the end of the first innings, Shubman Gill’s team trailed by 311 runs but the visitors didn’t lose courage and succeeded in getting a draw result following the fifth day’s end. Skipper Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, and Washington Sundar batted extraordinarily to help India evade the series defeat.

After the four games, India are trailing by a 1-2 margin and they will be required to win the final Test at The Oval to conclude the series in a stalemate. In the final match, India will aim to replicate their Edgbaston’s performance to beat the hosts and for that, they will have to form a formidable playing XI against the English side. Prior to the massive game, SportsTiger has come up with India’s predicted XI.

Openers: Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul

Yashasvi Jaiswal will be expected to be consistent with his bat while KL Rahul has shown that he can be a bankable batter for the side in crunch situations. Rahul is currently the second-leading run-getter with 511 runs with a couple of tons and two fifties in eight innings of four contests.

Middle-order batters: Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill (c), Dhruv Jurel (wk)

Sai Sudharsan couldn’t be effective in the second innings of the Manchester Test but he showed his brilliance in the first innings with his maiden Test fifty. He can be seen at number three again in the final Test. Shubman Gill will be expected to carry his form ahead and lead the side from the front. Dhruv Jurel can be seen replacing injured Rishabh Pant in the playing XI. His responsibility will be to deliver impactful knocks to the side as Pant has in this tournament, thus far.

All-rounders: Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar

Ravindra Jadeja did a phenomenal job for India in Manchester. As a bowler, he grabbed a four-wicket haul while donning the batter’s role, he smashed a ton that helped India draw the match. He will look to be at his best in the must-win contest. Washington Sundar also delivered fine numbers to the side as an all-rounder.

Bowlers: Arshdeep Singh, Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj, and Kuldeep Yadav

Arshdeep Singh may be seen making his Test debut for India in the upcoming match. If Jasprit Bumrah misses the final Test due to workload, the speedster will have to provide support to Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep to strengthen India’s fast-bowling unit. Akash Deep, who picked up the groin injury at the Lord’s Test, has recovered fully and is highly likely to feature in India’s 11-member squad. Kuldeep Yadav might be inducted in the 11-member squad and if that happens, he will look to do wonders to assist veteran Jadeja and Sundar to solidify the spin attack.
