Chris Gayle, the Universe Boss, won't be a part of IPL 2022. The explosive left-handed batsman was reportedly approached by couple of franchises before the mega auction but Gayle had already made up his mind. Although he won't be seen playing for any franchise this season, the 42-year-old has however revealed the name of two teams who will have his support.

During a recent Q/A session on Instagram, the fans got an opportunity to ask questions from Chris Gayle. This is when one of the users asked him about his loyalties in Indian Premier League. The Universe Boss did not shy away from giving an absolutely honest answer as he went on to reveal that he will support Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings in IPL 2022.

Gayle will support two of his former teams this year

"I want a trophy from one of them," Gayle said. Notably, the Jamaican cricketer has been part of both Bangalore and Punjab in the league but could not guide them to an IPL title.

The fans of both RCB and PBKS will be hoping that Gayle's wish comes true as they continue the long wait to see their teams get their hands on trophy since the inception of Indian Premier League in 2008.

While Bangalore have reached the finals in 2009, 2011 and 2016, Punjab ended as runners-up in 2014. Can one of the two teams go all the way this season and achieve glory? Let's wait and watch!

RCB and PBKS yet to announce captains for IPL 2022

The two teams that Chris Gayle selected have another similarity between them as they are the only 2 franchises yet to reveal names of captain for upcoming season. While Punjab are likely to announce either Mayank Agarwal or Shikhar Dhawan, Bangalore are notably pondering over the options of Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell as their leaders for IPL 2022.
