Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) top-order batter Ishan Kishan has said scoring 300+ in a T20 innings isn’t something that can be planned for. SRH batted fiercely in their previous Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 game played against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium and pulled off the target of 246 runs with nine balls to spare. This was IPL’s second-most successful run chase. The Orange Army needed a victory against Punjab as Pat Cummins and his men entered the match after losing four games on the trot. Their next clash is against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium, and ahead of the contest, SRH will expect their batting unit to continue their belligerent batting style.
Kishan, whose responsibility is to deliver brisk starts to his team along with openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma while batting at the top order, highlighted his team’s aggressive approach but said neither he nor his teammates think about touching a specific run-mark while batting. Before the competition, SRH captain Cummins had given the slogan of 300+, following which eyes were set on the IPL 2016 champions whether their batters can touch the feat of 300+ in an innings.
"When you're chasing, you have a target in mind. But when you're batting first, you just play the ball. And then you decide where you can go after the first six overs and how good you are on that wicket. So I don't want to be very particular with the score. But let's see. If we get a good start, then why not?" said Kishan.
Ishan Kishan expected to dominate MI bowlers in upcoming IPL 2025 clash
Ishan Kishan has failed to play an impactful knock after his maiden IPL ton against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in his debut game for SRH. The southpaw has shown up in six games for Sunrisers and has amassed only 136 runs. He has played a lot of cricket for Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium and noting the fact, the SRH team management will want him to have a blast in the upcoming game.
MI returned to winning ways with their triumph in the last game against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 13. The five-time champion side will expect their veterans Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah to do wonders against the 2016 champions to taste their third win in the tournament.
