India will aim to script history in the 2024-25 PSA World Championships to be held in Chicago, United States from May 9 to May 17. The team for the event has been announced and Anahat Singh will be spearheading women’s charge. Ramit Tandon, Velavan Senthilkumar, Abhay Singh, and Veer Chotrani have also got the responsibility to help India win the first medal for India in men’s singles. Expectations are high from Anahat as she has achieved some notable success recently. Last year, she performed extraordinarily and bagged nine PSA Challenger titles, more than any other woman competitor. She also went on to defend her senior and junior national crowns. This year, she has also looked in fine form clinching victory in the Indian Tour tournament in Chennai and claiming the Indian Open title in Mumbai.

She also grabbed the limelight after guiding India to a bronze medal at the Asian Junior Squash Team Championships 2025 held in Hong Kong. At the age of 17, she has achieved 62nd in the world rankings, which makes her India’s number one player among women. Along with Anahat, Veer Chotrani will also be watched closely as he will start his debut world championships campaign against 23rd-seed England’s Declan James. Chotrani qualified for the Chicago World Championships following the triumph in the Asian Qualifiers.

Ramit Tandon, Velavan Senthilkumar, and Abhay Singh have got direct entry for the tournament

Abhay Singh, Ramit Tandon, and Velavan Senthilkumar have got direct entry for the competition to be played in Chicago. Abhay will take on Switzerland’s Nicolas Mueller while Senthilkumar will lock horns with reigning world champion Peru’s Diego Elias. Ramit Tandon will square off against Japan’s Ryunosuke Tsukue in the inaugural round. With Squash set to make a debut in the 2028 LA Olympics , India will look to boost their confidence by winning the marquee event in Chicago.
