A meeting between the International Hockey Federation (FIH) and the Committee of Administrators (CoA) in New Delhi on Wednesday has approved that India is set to host the men's Hockey World Cup in 2023 for the second consecutive time. India will become the first country to host four hockey world cups in the history. In the meeting, which was attended by FIH acting president Seif Ahmed, CEO Thierry Weil and CoA members Justice (retd) Anil R Dave, S.Y. Quraishi and Zafar Iqbal, the discussions were made over fresh elections in the Hockey India and the redrafting of it's constitution in accordance with both the FIH and the National Sports Code.

Recently, FIFA has suspended the All India Football Federation for "undue influence from third parties". However, the FIH officials contrastingly adhered to the interference of the judiciary. "We don’t consider the court as a third party and respect the judiciary. We believe that the order of a court is not an interference," FIH acting president Seif Ahmed said.
