Preview

Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad will face each other for the first time in IPL 2022. Both teams are eyeing one of the last four spots. While Hyderabad sit at the fourth position in the standings, Delhi are placed seventh. Both teams have played nine games each in which Hyderabad have won five while Delhi have won four. Now, with the last phase of the tournament, both teams will hope for a win when they meet on Thursday evening (05 May).

Pitch Report

The Brabourne pitch has behaved like a typical Mumbai pitch. Runs have flowed easily at this venue with the average first innings total being 174.1. Bowlers have not got much help. However, spinners have enjoyed a better outing as compared to their quick counterparts. So, the pitch for DC vs SRH is also expected to be a belter with a lot of runs on offer.

Team Analysis

Delhi Capitals:

The Rishabh Pant-led side has blown hot and cold this season. While they have looked formidable in the games they have won, DC have looked pale in their losses. Prithvi Shaw is once again throwing his wicket as it seems. David Warner has done well to score three half-centuries in seven games. Rishabh Pant has produced a lot of 40s but has failed to capitalize on them. Lalit Yadav has faded after a few good innings. However, Rovman Powell is getting his mojo back.

In the bowling department, a collective effort is what is lacking. The DC bowlers were taken to the cleaners in their last game against LSG. So, they will look to redeem themselves when they face SRH.

SportsTiger Playing XI of DC

Prithvi Shaw, David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Lalit Yadav, Rovman Powell, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Chetan Sakariya, Mustafizur Rahman

Sunrisers Hyderabad:

After winning five consecutive games, Hyderabad have lost two games on the trot. There has been a pattern in the way SRH have lost their games. Against CSK, their bowlers were smashed all around the park. The batters tried to catch up but fell short by 13 runs. Kane Williamson's form is a worry for SRH as the batter has not been able to produce an innings of his class. Washington Sundar's injury is doing no good for Hyderabad as they are lacking a quality spinner in their bowling attack. Marco Jansen's dip in form is also a worry for SRH.

SportsTiger Playing XI of SRH

Abhishek Sharma, Kane Williamson (c), Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Shashank Singh, Romario Shepherd, Shreyas Gopal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik, T Natarajan

Match Prediction

Conclusion

Although SRH have lost two games on the trot, they have the right combination to beat Delhi on any given day.
