Delhi Capitals (DC) mentor Kevin Pietersen has cautioned his team for the upcoming challenges in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. DC have been playing an aggressive brand of cricket in the competition and they are now the only unbeaten side in the tournament after winning their four off four matches. In their previous encounter against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, they clinched a six-wicket win with the sensational batting efforts of KL Rahul. This was DC’s third consecutive win in away matches in the ongoing tournament.
Despite DC’s dominance in the competition, their mentor Pietersen has advised them to stay wary of the upcoming challenges in May. Following the emphatic victory over RCB, he commended Vipraj Nigam’s bowling effort in the game. Taking to X handle, the former England player wrote, “Quick reminder - the IPL is a marathon and not a sprint. Whilst it’s so good that we’re playing like we are, all of us know that the biggest games are in May! It really is so nice to be winning for our @DelhiCapitals supporters though. Special mention to our young superstar, Vippi! Some young man he is!”
DC to take on Mumbai Indians (MI) at Arun Jaitley Stadium in IPL 2025
DC’s upcoming game will be against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 13. It will be the Capitals’ first home game in Delhi as earlier they hosted Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Visakhapatnam on March 24. Mumbai haven’t been upto the mark this year thus far, and Delhi will look to perturb them and add charcoal to the fire.
Mumbai will be playing their next game after a gap of five days as their last encounter was against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium. In the contest against the Rajat Patidar-led side, the Men in Blue registered a 12-run loss. However, Hardik Pandya and his men will strive to recollect themselves to do wonders in DC’s backyard.
