With the Indian cricketing calendar currently at halt after Shubman Gill-led Indian team drew the highly-anticipated five-match Test series against England by 2-2 margin, the next major event is set to be held in September - the Men’s Asia Cup. However, the much-awaited domestic cricket season is also set to kickstart later this month with the Duleep Trophy.

Ahead of the domestic cricket season, Indian cricketers, including wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan and all-rounder Riyan Parag have reported to the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru for a routine fitness assessments. It is to be noted that Ishan Kishan will be seen leading the East Zone in the Duleep Trophy, Riyan Parag has also been named in the squad.

Notably, Ishan Kishan reported at the CoE after recovering from an ankle injury he sustained off the field in an accident over a month ago. Prior to that, he featured for Nottinghamshire in the County Championship in the UK, where he scored two half-centuries. Speaking of Riyan Parag, the all-rounder was seen captaining RR in the IPL in absence of Sanju Samson.

While the duo aren’t the only ones to report to the CoE. While India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav is at the NCA for a rehab ahead of the Asia Cup 2025, he is joined by all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who also checked in at NCA for his fitness assessment.
