Enzo Marescha’s Chelsea have been the talk of the town for the past few weeks after they defeated the mighty squad of PSG to declare themselves as World Champions lifting the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. They were the underdogs coming into the finals while PSG annihilated Real Madrid in the semi-finals defeating them 4-0. In the finals, right from the kick-off Chelsea were dominating the match completely. In all of the departments, Chelsea were one step ahead of the French Champions. The magic of Cole Palmer and the composure shown by their new signing Joao Pedro paved the way for Chelsea to defeat PSG 3-0.
The former Liverpool player and Football pundit Jamie Carragher analysed the position in which the Premier League teams will finish in the upcoming campaign. The former Liverpool player expressed his opinion stating that he feels that Chelsea are the favourites to finish on the fourth spot in the league. After finishing in the fourth spot in the Premier league in the last season as well, Carragher feels that the Chelsea squad are the most likely to finish in the fourth spot this season as well.
I don’t see Chelsea finishing above Liverpool, Arsenal or City: Jamie Carragher
Carragher feels that Chelsea are a tough side to reckon with in the upcoming campaign but the pundit believes that he does not see Chelsea finishing on top of Arsenal, Liverpool. Chelsea have already completed some major signings ahead of the upcoming season like Joao Pedro, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Liam Delap, etc which will prove to be much valuable for Enzo Marescha and will be very helpful for Chelsea as they have got strong depth in their squad for rotation.
Chelsea have also managed to offload players like Joao Felix, Jadon Sancho and Dewsbury-Hall to make way for new players in the squad. Many believed that Chelsea’s transfer window strategy will not help them. However, they have now established themselves as favourites to reach the top 4 of the Premier league and see themselves go far in the Champions League. It will be interesting to see if Chelsea can live up to the expectations and make their fans proud in the upcoming season.
