The Rohit Sharma-led Team India put up a dominating display to register their biggest win by runs in Test cricket history. The hosts put up a commanding lead of 556 runs and thereafter bundled out the Ben Stokes Three Lions at the score of 122 to win the third Test, which was played at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot by 434 runs and go 2-1 up in the five-match Test series.
With an advantage on the side of the hosts, the team is reportedly looking to rest Indian spearhead Jasprit Bumrah for the fourth Test, which is scheduled to commence from February 23 in Ranchi. As reported by Cricbuzz, Bumrah, who was set to be rested for the third Test, will now be allowed to skip the next Test. Check the top betting trends on the best betting apps in India and websites.
As per reports, Bumrah will drive down to Ahmedabad as rest of the members of the side fly out of Rajkot on Tuesday, February 20. It is to be noted that this decision to rest Bumrah comes as a part of the workload management. Earlier, Mohammed Siraj was rested for the second Test in Visakhapatnam, which India won by 106 runs and Mukesh Kumar was released from the squad ahead of third Test to join his Ranji side.
Speaking of the ongoing five-match series, while it stands currently in favour of the hosts, the Men in Blue will next host England in the fourth Test, scheduled to be played from February 23 to 27 at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. Moreover, the final Test of the series will be played at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala from March 7 to 11.
