On Day 4 of the third Test match in Rajkot, the Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah took a jibe at England's batters for playing defensive cricket in their second innings. In pursuit of the massive 557-run target, England had lost three quick wickets, forcing them to play conservatively rather than employing their trademark aggressive style called Bazball.

After securing the first-innings lead of 126 runs, India delivered the best batting performance of the Test series, thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal leading the way with his second double-hundred in back-to-back matches against England. They declared their second innings in the afternoon session on Day 4 with a massive score of 430/4.

It led to the highly impressive top order of Ben Duckett, Zak Crawley, and Ollie Pope going back in the shed within the first 10 overs. Joe Root, who has been severely criticised for his poor first innings dismissal through a reverse scoop shot, was keen on playing within himself to keep the Indian bowlers at bay.

Following one of the defensive shots from Joe Root, the Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was heard saying on the stump mic, “Ye log maar nahi rahe hai (They are not attacking now).” Bumrah also recreated the defensive shot of Root while hilariously giggling at one of his Indian teammates.

Ultimately, the bowling lineup of India kept the pressure on the England batters for the remainder of Day 4, bowling them out for just 122 runs within 40 overs. The local boy Ravindra Jadeja picked up a five-wicket haul at the Niranjan Shah Stadium to help the Indians register their highest Test win by runs (434) in their history.
