Jhye Richardson earns big in IPL 2021 Auction; bought by Punjab Kings for INR 14 Crore

Australian pacer Jhye Richardson was one player who was expected to earn big in IPL 2021 Auction. The things certainly panned out well for the 24-year-old on Thursday as he was bought by the newly-branded Punjab Kings for INR 14 Crore.

Punjab Kings secure the services of Richardson

There were a lot of franchises who needed a pace bowler to lead their attack. While Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore unsurprisingly showed a lot of interest in securing the services of the speedster, it was eventually Punjab Kings who bought Jhye Richardson for a whooping amount of INR 14 Crore.

Jhye had a fantastic BBL Campaign

The Australian speedster had a fantastic season in the recently concluded Big Bash League for Perth Scorchers. Richardson scalped 29 wickets in the 17 matches at an impressive economy of 7.69. The 24-year-old can also chipped in with some crucial runs down the order at a strike rate of 139.13. He will certainly provide a major boost to the Punjab Kings setup, who struggled with their bowling department last season. Jhye will certainly form a deadly pace attack with Mohammed Shami for the Punjab franchise.
