Luis Diaz, the Columbian international, is an attacking forward who plays for the Premier League defending champions Liverpool. The 28-year-old has been an integral part of the squad of Liverpool, managing to score 41 goals and 23 assists in 148 appearances for them. Jurgen Klopp was a massive admirer of the style of play of Luis Diaz, and he was the one who insisted on buying him from the Portuguese league.
The Columbian’s presence has really solidified the team and he has played a major role in winning the titles for Liverpool since the time of his arrival. However, the 28-year-old was left out of the squad of Liverpool in the friendly match against the Italian giants AC Milan, in which they were thrashed 4-2 by the Serie A club. When Arne Slot was asked about Diaz’s absence, he stated that it was because of speculation surrounding a move for the Colombia forward.

With that, they are reportedly set to part ways with the Colombian ahead of the upcoming campaign. FC Barcelona were among the names to sign Luis Diaz after they missed out on Nico Williams. However, they have now completed the signing of Marcus Rashford from Manchester United. They have reportedly confirmed their intention to not sign any other player for the upcoming season.
According to reports, Liverpool have rejected the bid of £58 million from the Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich to sign Luis Diaz on a permanent deal. Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl made contacts with Liverpool identifying Diaz as a potential target for Bayern as Leroy Sane departed from the club. Bayern identified Diaz as a perfect replacement for Sane. It would be interesting to see if Diaz makes a move to another club or continues his reign at Merseyside.
