Manchester United had loaned their English forward Marcus Rashord to Aston Villa this January after reportedly having a rift with their manager Ruben Amorim. It was rumoured that he will be leaving the club in this transfer window following the completion of his loan spell. However, he is set to make a return to the Red Devils as they kick off their pre-season training on Monday, July 7. Technically Marcus Rashford is still a player of Manchester United and till the time he finds a new club for himself, he will continue to stay with them as per their contract.
Marcus Rashford spent the second half of the previous campaign at Aston Villa, where he had regained his confidence back and was an integral player in the squad under Unai Emery. He had made a total of 17 appearances for Villa in which he managed to score four goals and provide six assists for the team. United are looking to sell the English forward on a permanent deal and have valued him for £40 million. However they have still not received any approaches from clubs in order to sign him and are still looking for potential options.
Marcus Rashford looking forward to strike deal with FC Barcelona over potential transfer
Marcus Rashford in a recent interview stated that he would like to play alongside Lamine Yamal for FC Barcelona, but the Catalan gainst are not consider Rashford as a priority target. However, the main target of Barcelona which was Nico Williams has put an end to all the interests and he has signed a new contract with his boyhood club Athletic Bilbao until the year 2035. It means that Rashford’s ‘dream’ move of playing for FC Barcelona is still on the cards.
Also, Marcus Rashford has been a part of Manchester United for 20 years since his childhood days, scoring 138 goals in 426 matches for the club. He has been an integral part of many major trophy winning campaigns for Manchester United. It is sad to see a wonderful journey at the Old Trafford to end this way but a move to another club seems to be the best option for both the parties to succeed in the upcoming campaign.
