Rashford to be the final piece of the puzzle for Hansi Flick’s Barcelona: Reports
FC Barcelona were keen on adding another left-winger to their squad ahead of the upcoming season. They were keen on signing Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao. However, Nico decided to continue at the Athletic club and extended his contract until 2035. Barcelona also identified Luis Diaz as an option but Liverpool do not consider him for sale in this transfer window. Finally, Barcelona decided to make a move for Marcus Rashford, who was keen on joining the side since the time he returned to Manchester United after a loan spell.
Last year, after a breakdown in relations with manager Ruben Amorim, the 27-year-old was loaned out to Aston Villa in the winter transfer window. He played a major role , helping the team to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Hansi Flick would be looking forward to turning him into a beast in the pre-season and help them defend the title in the upcoming campaign.
