MI vs CSK, IPL 2023: MS Dhoni's sweet gesture with groundsmen at Wankhede wins hearts

One of the biggest rivalries in the IPL, Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings never fails to impress fans with their on-field and off the field gestures. Similarly, CSK skipper MS Dhoni, who is known for his humble and polite nature, pulled off a heartwarming gesture as he posed for a picture with the ground staff at the Wankhede stadium.

On Saturday, four-time champions CSK defeated five-time winners MI by seven wickets with 11 balls remaining as Ravindra Jadeja, Ajinkya Rahane and Ruturaj Gaikwad guided the Yellow Army to their second victory in three matches so far this season.

CSK won the game against MI and skipper MS Dhoni won hearts by posing with the Wankhede ground staff after the match. Fans on social media appreciated the Captain Cool's sweet gesture to acknowledge the groundmen's hard work. 

Talking about the match, CSK won the toss and invited the home team to bat first and held them at a total of 157 runs with a loss of eight wickets. Ravindra Jadeja (3/20) led the bowling attack for the CSK followed by Mitchell Santner (2/28) and Tushar Deshpande (2/31). While in-form Ruturaj Gaikwad scored an unbeaten 40 off 36, Ajinkya Rahane displayed his sensational batting in his first match of the IPL 2023 and scored 61 runs in just 27 balls with three sixes and seven fours.

With their win against Mumbai Indians, CSK have joined the likes of Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants, Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings as the five teams who have registered two victories in the IPL 2023 so far. MI, on the other hand, have joined Delhi Capitals and SunRisers Hyderabad as the only teams yet to win a game in the ongoing season.
