On May 10, 2018, Rishabh Pant notched up an unbeaten 128 off 63 for Delhi Capitals (DC) against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match, played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium and became the Indian batter with the highest individual score in the Indian Premier League (IPL) then. He achieved the feat after shattering Murali Vijay’s record of 127 (56) for Chennai Supers Kings (CSK), which came against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 2010. His innings was studded with 22 boundaries (15 fours and seven maximums). Batting at number four, he stood tall against SRH’s bowling attack and brought his century in just 56 balls. Riding on his innings, DC posted 187/5 in their 20 overs.

Following the total, Sunrisers lost their England opener Alex Hales in the second over of the innings. In the crunch situation, Shikhar Dhawan along with his captain Kane Williamson stood in the middle and went on to stitch a match-winning stand of unbroken 176 runs for the second wicket off 102 deliveries. Riding on their partnership, SRH completed the target in 18.5 overs and bagged a convincing nine-wicket win. Williamson scored an unbeaten 83 off 53 while Dhawan struck an unbeaten 92 off 50 and became the player of the match (POTM).
