Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper Pat Cummins has expressed gratitude to the Indian Armed Forces with an Instagram story before the resumption of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The marquee T20 tournament got suspended for a week on May 9, due to the military conflict between India and Pakistan. The clash between the two South Asian neighbours witnessed the gallant side of India’s Armed Forces. With the ceasefire between the two countries on May 10, cricket buffs will also see the resumption of the T20 competition with the game between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on May 17.

Thanking the Indian Armed Forces for their exceptional job during the conflict, Cummins took to Instagram and posted the poster of all IPL captains posing together. He captioned the image, "Thank you, Indian Armed Forces for inspiring us with your bravery.” Cummins, who returned to Australia after the seven-day suspension of the competition, will be seen leading SRH ahead.

SRH will take on Lucknow Super Giants on May 19

Sunrisers’ next challenge will be against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on May 19. Hyderabad are already out of playoffs contention as they have won only three encounters after appearing in 11 games. Cummins has also struggled to be disciplined with the ball this season, claiming only 13 wickets in 11 contests at an economy of 9.15.

The Orange Army will look to conclude their campaign on a positive note, winning their remaining matches. After IPL 2025, Cummins will be seen leading his national side Australia against South Africa in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 final to be played from June 11 to 15 at the iconic Lord’s.
