Rodrygo’s recent situation at Real Madrid has been gaining the attention of many in the footballing world. Having missed the last three games for Madrid including not getting a single minute against FC Barcelona in the latest El Clasico despite being on the bench, there have been multiple rumours about a possible rift between the Brazilian right winger and the team management. Reports indicated that Rodyrgo was supposedly unhappy with his current role at the club and felt overshadowed by new-comers like Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham.
Interestingly, Rodrygo also missed Madrid last game against Mallorca on 14th May 2025 after being left out of the squad. However, Rodrygo has taken to his social media handles to address these rumours and has said that he is recovering from whatever fitness issues he was facing and will be back with the team soon. In a post on his official X account, Rodrygo posted a photo with Spanish text reading, ‘Thank you for all the messages and concern, I’ll be back soon. Stop making things up!’ The last line was particularly directed towards all the recent rumours around him.
Carlo Ancelotti set to reunite with Rodrygo with Brazil national team
Regardless of the clarification from the player himself, Rodrygo’s situation has been garnering attention from top clubs across Europe due to his solid profile. Many teams will be up to swoop the young talented winger in a case of a fallout with Real Madrid. Manchester City and Arsenal are said to be the two club who seems to be quite attentive to Rodrygo’s situation. Rodrygo’s form this season has also been quite good for Real Madrid as he has racked up 13 goals and 10 assists across all competitions so far.
Carlo Ancelotti was also asked about the whole Rodrygo situation in the latest pre-match press conference to which he replied by saying that Rodrygo’s absence was purely because of fitness concerns and that he rates the 24-year-old very highly. Although Ancelotti will be departing Real Madrid at the end of the season, the Italian manager will be re-united with Rodrygo soon in his stint with the Brazil national team.
