Team India are in deep trouble after losing two quick wickets in the second innings of the fourth Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025. On the fourth day of the match, the English side added 125 runs off just 133 balls. England skipper Ben Stokes struck his first Test ton after two years and created immense pressure on the visitors. Stokes ended his innings after accumulating 141 off 198. His knock was studded with 14 boundaries (11 fours and three maximums). India were troubled by the tailender Brydon Carse again. The pacer scored 47 off 54 with his bat. England concluded their innings after erecting 669 runs on the board.
England, who took a 311-run lead in the first innings, saw their veteran pacer Chris Woakes stepping up and dismissing India top-order batters Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan. Both left-handed batters got dismissed without scoring any runs. Jaiswal played four deliveries while Sudharsan lost his wicket on the first ball. Noting England’s dominance and India’s miserable start in the second innings, netizen are taking Shubman Gill’s team to the cleaners. An X user named Parvez taunted Team India and wrote, “India in a hurry! Two wickets down in first over ! India don't want a "draw" ..They want a result #INDvsENGTest.”
India on verge of series defeat
Following the terrible start, Team India requires a miraculous performance from their remaining mainstay batters to save this match. KL Rahul and captain Shubman Gill are in the middle currently and they will look to spend a lot of time at the crease and exhaust the home side’s bowlers.
England, on the other hand, will strive to fold India’s innings in the remaining couple of sessions and take an unassailable lead of 3-1 after four games. If England succeed, India’s dream of winning a Test series on England’s soil after 2007 will witness extension.
