Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) got criticised for posting a collage of Team India on social media in which opener KL Rahul was missing. The post was related to India’s campaign against England in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025. With the six-run win against England in the final test played at The Oval, Team India succeeded in levelling the Test series 2-2 on English soil for the second time within four years. Mohammed Siraj and captain Shubman Gill played a vital role in the success. Gill notched up 754 runs in 10 innings of five matches and ended up as the leading run-getter in the competition, while Siraj was the most successful bowler in the series with 23 wickets in nine innings.
In the image collage posted by LSG on X, heroes of the series such as Gill, Siraj, Rishabh Pant, and Ravindra Jadeja can be seen getting featured, but not KL Rahul, their former captain. A fan named Dodda Ganesh took to X and wrote, “This is getting embarrassing. Couldn’t get a picture of an opener who played the new ball and scored 500+ runs.” Earlier, LSG dropped the collage and remarked, “A photo album for the ages.”
KL Rahul’s performance in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025
KL Rahul was disciplined with his bat in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025. He hoarded 532 runs with a couple of hundreds and two fifties in 10 innings of five matches and ended up as the third-leading run-getter in the competition. At the iconic Lord’s, he struck a scintillating hundred from his bat.
India’s next red-ball assignment is at home in October. The West Indies will play a couple of Tests to be held in Ahmedabad and Delhi. At the end of the year, Shubman Gill and his men will also host South Africa in November.
