During the WNBA match between Chicago Sky and New York Liberty on June 10, a special guest was spotted in the arena. Coco Gauff, who is enjoying her off-time following her 2025 Roland Garros triumph, was a spectator in the game. Gauff, who was an underdog in the competition in the 2025 French Open final against Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka, performed a turnaround and clinched 7-5, 6-2, and 6-4 win after a tough fight at the Philippe-Chatrier Court. It was Gauff’s second Grand Slam victory. This new success has soared her popularity all around the world.
Following New York’s win against Chicago at the Barclays Center in WNBA, Sabrina Ionescu met Gauff and gifted her a New York Liberty’s custom jersey. They also posed together for a picture. Earlier, Liberty won the game by 85-66 figures and this was their ninth victory in the competition. They are currently leading the Eastern Conference points tally. New York will next take on Indiana Fever at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on June 15. Talking about Sky, it was their sixth defeat in competition and they are now in the 11th spot on the points table.
Coco Gauff’s next assignment
Gauff will next feature in the 2025 Berlin Tennis Open, which will be played from June 16 to 22. She will be the second seeded player in the competition. In the previous edition of the tournament, Gauff’s compatriot Jessica Pegula emerged as the winner after beating Russia’s Anna Kalinskaya.
This time, Gauff will look to win this tournament and solidify her preparation for the upcoming 2025 Wimbledon Championships, which will be played from June 30 to July 13, 2025. She will compete with Sabalenka, Pegula, Jasmine Paolini, and Iga Swiatek in the massive event. The 21-year-old will hope to defend 240 points in the marquee tournament.
