The IPL 2024 fixture between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals saw a fan barge into the Wankhede Stadium to meet Rohit Sharma in the second innings. The hosts were put on the mat thanks to a brilliant bowling display by the Royals who reduced Mumbai to 125-9 in 20 overs.
Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal starred for RR as the pair combined to pick up six wickets while giving away 33 runs in eight overs. For Mumbai, Hardik Pandya top-scored with a score of 34 in 21 balls with six fours.
Then in the second innings, Rohit Sharma was posted at slip when a fan ran into the playing at the Wankhede Stadium. Spotting this supporter, Rohit startled away and then shook hands with him. The pitch invader also shared a handshake with Ishan Kishan before the ground security ushered him out of the ground.
Coming back to the first innings, Yuzi Chahal showed off his class with the ball as he picked up three wickets while giving away 10 runs in his four overs. Speaking about this performance, Chahal, in the mid-innings interview, said, "Was trying to vary my pace, just tried to mix my length and pace."
"A few balls were turning, so I tried to bowl that ball against Hardik. I always back my skills, this is the format where you go for runs, sometimes you get wickets. There's little dew, but we need to play well in the first six overs."
